Esé Azénabor - S/S27

At The Rainbow Room, Esé Azénabor transformed the traditional language of bridal couture into something distinctly more exuberant. For Spring/Summer 2027, “Electric Garden” explores color as both visual spectacle and emotional language—a collection built around the idea that fashion can awaken feeling, stimulate imagination, and simply bring joy.

As Azénabor describes it, “I explored the richness of color and its ability to awaken emotion, inspire imagination, and bring pure joy to life.”

That philosophy was unmistakable on the runway. Rather than treating color as an accent to bridal white, Azénabor allowed it to become the collection's central character. The use of floral references appears not simply as decoration, but as sculptural elements. Oversized blossoms, dimensional appliqué, textured surfaces, and highly embellished gowns give the collection a sense of movement, as though the garden itself has been translated into couture; a signature of her brand.

The color story is equally expressive.

Soft powder blue, lavender, blush, orange, pink, yellow, and luminous white move throughout the collection, creating an almost kaleidoscopic progression. Some looks feel ethereal and romantic; others are deliberately theatrical. The result is a collection that refuses to confine femininity to a single visual language.

The silhouettes reinforce that idea.

Corseted constructions create structure beneath otherwise fluid gowns, while exaggerated skirts introduce volume and drama. Draped forms and elongated silhouettes offer a softer counterpoint to the collection's more sculptural moments. One of the strongest recurring tensions is between precision and excess: fitted bodies against expansive skirts, controlled corsetry against cascading texture, and delicate floral elements against unapologetically dramatic proportions.

Embellishment remains fundamental to Azénabor's vocabulary. Beaded and crystal-like surfaces catch the light dramatically, while intricate detailing rewards a closer look. In several looks, the embellishment becomes so dense that the gown takes on an almost architectural quality.
